Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Ruslan Tsitser (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Dog Grummy mobile application (“App”). Dog Grummy helps you care for your dog with health trackers, care schedules, training tools, and AI-assisted grooming previews. It does not provide professional grooming advice, veterinary diagnosis, or guaranteed grooming or health outcomes.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Pet profile — for example, your dog’s name, breed, birthdate, and an optional profile photo you choose during onboarding;
- Pet passport — optional details such as chip number, breed, color, veterinarian name and phone, and notes;
- Health and daily care logs you enter in trackers, including water intake, weight, walk duration and notes, feeding, toilet activity, sleep, health notes, heat cycle dates, and medication or vitamin logs;
- Care schedule entries — grooming care dates (bath, nails, teeth, ears), vaccination records, and parasite treatment dates;
- Training progress — command status and program progress you log in the App;
- Dog photos from your photo library that you select for grooming preview or profile;
- Grooming style you choose (for example, style name and description).
Walk logs record duration and optional notes only. The App does not collect GPS location or route data.
Information collected automatically
- Device and app data needed to run the App (for example, device type, operating system version, and app version);
- Local app data stored on your device, including pet profile and care logs, generation history (before/after images), and preferences (for example, whether onboarding was completed).
Subscription data
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google. We receive subscription status through our provider Apphud (for example, whether premium access is active). We do not receive your full payment card details.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- Store and display your pet profile, trackers, care schedules, and training progress on your device;
- Send dog photos and selected style details to AI services to detect a dog and generate grooming previews;
- Save generations and results on your device;
- Enable premium features when you have an active subscription;
- Maintain security, fix bugs, and improve the App;
- Comply with legal obligations.
Health trackers, care schedules, training progress, and pet passport data stay on your device and are not sent to our servers for ordinary App use.
3. AI processing (Google Gemini)
When you start a grooming preview, the App sends your dog photo and selected style information to Google’s Gemini API (Google LLC) over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Google processes this data as a service provider according to Google’s Privacy Policy and the terms that apply to the API.
We use the API to verify that the photo contains a dog and to generate a grooming preview image. Trackers, care logs, training data, and pet passport information are not sent to Google. We do not sell your photos. Do not use the App for content you are not willing to share with Google for this purpose.
AI output is for preview and entertainment only. Informational content such as the skin condition library is not a medical diagnosis. Always consult a qualified groomer or veterinarian for your pet’s care. See our Terms of Use.
4. Where data is stored
Pet profile data, trackers, care schedules, training progress, pet passport details, dog photos, and generated grooming previews are stored on your device in the App’s local database and file storage. We do not operate a user account or cloud backup for your data in the current version of the App. Uninstalling the App may delete local data depending on your device settings.
5. Third-party services
We use the following categories of providers:
- Google (Gemini API) — processes dog photos and style text to detect a dog and generate grooming previews;
- Apphud — subscription management; may process device identifiers, app events, and purchase-related data. See Apphud’s Privacy Policy;
- Apple App Store / Google Play — payment and subscription billing.
We share only what is necessary for these services to function. Their use of data is governed by their own policies.
6. Permissions
The App may request access to your photo library so you can select a dog image for grooming preview or an optional profile photo. You can deny permission; related features will not work without it.
7. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we rely on:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the App, previews, and features you request;
- Legitimate interests — to secure and improve the App, where balanced against your rights;
- Legal obligation — where applicable.
8. Retention
Data on your device remains until you delete entries in the App or uninstall the App. Data processed by Google or Apphud is retained according to their policies and our configuration of those services.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete personal data we control;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

10. Children
The App is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data through the App.
11. International transfers
Providers such as Google may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States. Those countries may have different data protection laws.
12. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect data in transit (such as HTTPS for API requests). No system is completely secure.
13. Changes
We may update this Policy. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised Policy.
